Gold (All That Glitters #2) by K.A. Linde **Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway**

The prey becomes the predator.

Love. That cursed four-letter word no longer belongs in Bryna’s vocabulary. The only four-letter word she knows now is gold.

…and fuck.

She’s well acquainted with that one. And that’s exactly what she plans to do. She’s no longer the golden girl, and when she meets a businessman who promises everything she could ever want from the arrangement, she intends to get her money’s worth.

Follow the conclusion to Bryna’s gold digging story in this scandalizing, duplicitous second book to the USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s All That Glitters series.

EXCERPT:

“Good choice.”
Bryna startled. She hadn’t realized anyone had walked up to her while she was salivating over the earrings.
She faced the stranger, and her heart stuttered. Oh, yes. So much yes.
“Well, I have impeccable taste,” she drawled.
He smiled. “I can see that.”
He was perfect. Older than even Jude or maybe the same age. Mid to late thirties and utterly delectable. High cheekbones, full lips, chiseled strong jaw, and gleaming light-brown eyes. What she noticed next was just as important—an indulgent custom suit that fit him like a second skin. With that kind of cut and quality, it had to be something straight out of London’s Savile Row. A fine suit had all the same necessary characteristics as a diamond, and both should be worn as often as possible.
She shifted her Louis Vuitton bag to her other arm and faced him head-on. “It appears I’m not the only one with good taste.” She wet her lips.
“You can never go wrong with diamonds.”
She completely agreed. “You think so?” she asked, playing coy.
“Absolutely.”
“And what exactly are you shopping for?” She was mesmerized by his cool exterior.
Their conversation was intense, and they had barely shared more than two-dozen words. He had a commanding presence with such little effort.
The man leaned in slightly. “Just browsing.”
He looked her directly in the eyes, and she got the impression he considered her to be merchandise.
If the Harry Winston diamonds around her neck were any indication, she could be bought.

4.5 Golden stars

In this instalment we follow Bri on her college year as a freshman. After the disaster she had endured at Diamonds, Bryna has decided that she's going to be a gold digger. Not because she doesn't have already money, but because the situation with Jude had left her powerless and she needs to get back the control. She's queen Bee after all.

We can notice a change in Bryna, in this journey, while she's trying to piece back herself. She has made friends, something she wasn't so good at high school, but in the meanwhile she also hurts people.

Hugh is her next victim, a multimillioner owner of resorts, falls in her trap and slowly but steadily Bri is being showered with gifts and luxury by him. Meanwhile, back at college, Eric is a guy who rejected Bri, but she had been told that he was gay. They fight a lot, but one Christmas break, they get close and become buddies. There's chemistry between them, but Bri knows that he's secretly gay so she's feeling comfortable knowing that and somehow she trusts him with everything, past and present.

We meet old persons, new persons and situations surrounding Bryna and there's character development but the path to get there is long and definitely not easy. Not without breaking hearts to get there..

At the first book, I thought that Bri was insufferable and that she dug her own grave when it came to her friends, Jude and Gates. I thought she had taken stupid decisions and that she didn't deserve them to be around her. I didn't like much the first book, but I get that we needed to see that side of her and what made her be a gold digger afterwards.

I didn't like her at first in gold. There was some hope for her since her relationship with the girls seemed genuine, but there were moments that I was still frustrated with her. Especially when Hugh seemed such a nice smitten guy. Bri is a self destructive person, but eventually I enjoyed her journey.

Even though some things were predictable, I still enjoyed the book and I'm satisfied with how things ended for her.
