Xanthe is a 29 year old author from Amsterdam who's heading in New York in a book signing. She has signed up with Dreamstone Publishing, after being self published so far and she now has to show up to promote her books with their new covers. Covers that have Oliver Fairfax on them.
Oliver is actually a photographer in Amsterdam and when the publishing house reached out to him, he was excited. Until they told him that they needed him as a cover model and not for his photography skills. Although, he wasn't thrilled about that, his partner Trey told him to go for it, because it would be good for their studio.
Oliver is now heading to New York to make the photoshooting and attend the book signings he signed up for. On his way there, an incident helps him meet Xanthe and they hang out together at New York, getting closer to each other.
But there are things that Oliver doesn't know about Xanthe and when the truth will unravel , things will get messed up for both of them. Will they be able to forgive each other and start over again?
Can I just say how much Xanthe surprised me with her character and I was pleasantly surprised, alright! She was this quiet, shy looking nerd and moving on we could see a totally different side of her, all feisty, slutty and fierce girl! I was taken aback by her and I was amused. As for Ollie, I have to admit that I liked him, but there were a few things about him that didn't wow me. Like his reaction when the secret was out. Like later on when he acted like a pussy. But he was awesome too and sexy and protective and generally he made up for his mistakes as well.
"I had a hundred thousand words of Xanthe. I needed to show her, show the entire world, that those words weren't wasted."
I loved very much the side characters, like aunt Elle!! Oh my god, talk about a secondary character that you want an entire book just for her!! Seriously!! I'm a little curious about the other characters and if they have books of their own stories already, because there were so much going on with them, that I got a little lost to be honest.
I liked the suspense, the angst and the drama and I don't think it was over the top, since it was equally measured with funny and sexy moments as well. I loved the writing of this author and although this was my first read by her, it certainly won't be my last. If you need a funny, steamy and angsty story give it a chance and you may fall in love with Oliver's beard and his redhead minx!

About the Author:
Born and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year.
She's surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep,
and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane.
The insane don't know they're insane.
Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor--and don't get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that's pretty cool.
Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she'd actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she's mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she's nervous that she's going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.
