Title: Girl Crush
Author: Kaydee Mavericks & Riley Rhea
Book Tour: July 15-17

Kerrigan Marks has been in love with her boss from the first day of her job, she just hasn't known it. Only problem is, he's taken and he doesn't even notice her.
His model like girlfriend, with her blond hair, crystal blue eyes and legs that go on for days, is the only person that catches his attention.
So why would he notice me?
I'm the plain Jane, the girl everyone passes by without a second glance. I'm the girl who wants to be the model girlfriend, the one who gets a second and third glance.
I WANT IT ALL.
But what happens when I get what I want?
No matter how much I thought I knew. I WAS WRONG.
NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. NOTHING AT ALL.
3 stars
Kerrigan is a 23 year old girl who is finally moving out and goes to live in Redwoods, after she found a picture of her mother at that place. For some reason her parents had been secretive and they didn't want their sheltered daughter to go, but she found a position as a personal assistant at Vaughn Enterprises and she won't deny her dream job, just because her parents are over-protective.
When she visits her new office, everyone acts like they know a secret, that she doesn't. There she becomes the personal assistant of the hot owner, Mr. Damon Vaughn, who according to her new best friend and neighbor, Bryce, is an asshole. She feels a pull with her boss, even though he's dating Lucia, a hot model and Kerrigan could never compete her, instead she wants to be like her. At the same time, she starts having weird dreams, the place feels familiar, plus many secrets seem to be surrounding her.
Ever since moving here everything seems a little off. Not in a bad way, just in a way that seems familiar yet completely new.
I have to admit that this book surprised me. When I requested this book I had no idea that this was paranormal romance (PNR). I thought it would be a regular contemporary romance, but this definitely was a surprise. I'm not a hater of the genre, so I wasn't disappointed.
At first I was curious and I admit that it had a dosage ofsuspense and mystery. I can't say I felt a great connection with the characters, but I liked Bryce, I enjoyed the dreams and her transformation and Damon's POV. I'm curious to read the rest of the series, since the book ended with a cliffhanger.
Overall, it was an okay read, but I felt like something was missing. Maybe because the hero had a relationship and I didn't see any kind of romance between them or maybe because it made me think that the heroine had a thing for his girlfriend instead. Hopefully the next one will have more romance & more adventure and it will be longer, because this felt like a novella.

Riley Rhea
Riley didn't always want to be a writer, but then one day out of nowhere a story popped in her head and refused to leave. After receiving some advice from a friend, who is an amazing author, she sat down at her computer and wrote. After a few chapters there was no stopping. She found a new passion and wanted to share it with the world. Born and raised in the Bluegrass Riley loves to keep her stories close to home.
She has a wonderfully supportive and encouraging husband who wants her to follow her new passion of writing. She's the mother to three awesome children who have many talents that they share with the world as well.
If she's not reading, writing, blogging, or snuggling you can be find her on the golf course, exploring nature at Mammoth Cave National Park, or at a ballgame.
